Pre-shipment QC checklist for custom metal signs.
Inspection should answer one question: does the finished product match the approved specification closely enough to ship, or is there an exception that needs a human decision?
Geometry
- Overall dimensions and thickness / depth
- Hole positions, stud positions and stand-off depth
- Flatness and visible deformation
- Part count and orientation for multi-part logos
Surface and finish
- Brushed direction and consistency
- Scratches, dents, weld marks and polishing variation
- PVD / paint / powder-coat colour against approved reference
- Edge deburring and corner condition
Graphics
- Correct logo version, wording and spelling
- Engraving / etching depth and fill consistency
- Alignment, margins and variable data such as room numbers
- No missing internal pieces or detached small components
Packing
- Face protection and separation between finished surfaces
- Hardware bag labelled and counted
- Template / installation drawing included where required
- Carton or crate prevents movement and edge impact
