PVD gold vs real brass for signage
Both can create a premium gold appearance, but one is a decorative surface system over a substrate while the other is the bulk metal itself.

Gold colour alone does not define the right material
A reference image may be achievable with polished brass, brushed brass, gold PVD or painted aluminium. The buyer should identify whether the priority is authentic material, exact colour, outdoor durability, weight or price.
Approve finish under relevant lighting
Warm interior lighting can make polished and brushed gold finishes appear very different from daylight photographs. A controlled sample is more reliable for premium projects.
Specify edges and rear surfaces
Visible returns, edges and back faces can expose the difference between a coated system and bulk brass. The drawing should state which surfaces must carry the decorative finish.
